Wilkes-Barre - January 9, 2015 -

Bobby Farnham fresh back from his stint in Pittsburgh took an interference penalty giving the Admirals the first power play of tonight's contest, but the Penguins would kill it in grand fashion. Matt Murray doing a great job early on keeping the Admirals out of the WBS net and keeping it even at 0-0.

Norfolk would get the second power play of the game giving them yet another chance to get the lead as NickD'Agostino clears it over the glass but WBS kills it again. Bobby Farham makes up for the stint in the bin drawing a penalty on Marc Cantin but a freaky turn over in the neutral zone as the puck bounces off a Norfolk player coming off the bench, which should have been blow dead, ends up a short handed bid for Norfolk and a short handed goal. The first short handed goal WBS has given up this season as well.

Dominik Uher picks a dance partner at the end of the first period none other than Marc Cantin setting the tone for the second period as the WBS Pens leave the ice for the first intermission trailing the Norfolk Admirals 2-0.

Nick Drezenovic makes it back to the ice about halfway into the second Norfolks O'Brien goes after him just as Conor Sheary gets hit by a slapshot from Reid McNeill sending him off for repairs. McNeill cuts in on the Drezenovic dance and shows O'Brien how to lead, all in all WBS ends up on the power play. Conor Sheary ended up getting repaired and was back out shortly.

WBS not getting anything good in the second period only getting a total of five shots on net for the twenty minutes and that includes power plays. WBS having some trouble tonight getting anything to go their way. At the en d of two it was still 2-0 Norfolk thanks to the Penguins Matt Murray for keeping it so with some nice saves, WBS needing to find some mojo for the third period.

The WBS Penguins had the best chance of the game just around eight minutes into the third as nick Drezenovic took a high stick cutting his lip and drawing a four minute double minor power play for the Penguins.  WBS had a few nice chances got off a few shots but did not convert on the double minor, giving the Admirals yet a little more momentum at the end of the power play with just over 11 minutes to play in regulation.

WBS gets one last try on the power play as Marc Catin clears the puck over the glass but the Penguins come up short once again, WBS just not in this game tonight it seemed just no offense Matt Murry doing everything he could but he cant score. The Norfolk Admirals win this one over flat footed WBS Penguins 2-0.
