Mountain Top - January 24, 2016 -

The WBS Penguins looking to better their record for the weekend looking at a one and one coming from Portland headed to Providence to take on the Bruins. Providence would be the first to score this afternoon Frank Vatrano would get things going for the Bruins 14:36 in at the Dunkin Donuts Center.

That would be it for the scoring in the first WBS giving the Bruins 2 power plays in the first but killing them off The Penguins getting one power play as well but not able to do anything with it. The Penguins getting some chances in the first but just not getting what they needed.

J.S. Dea would get things started for the Penguins early in the second making it a 1-1 game beating Malcom Subban. Colton Hargrove would com right back making it a 2-1 game giving the Bruins the lead once again just under a minute later at 2:20. The red hot Josh Archibald would come back for the WBS Penguins just over a minutes and a half later to even things up at two a piece.

Providence would pull ahead again with just under seven minutes left in the second as a bad turnover by the WBS Penguins creates the chance the Bruins needed and just like that it was a 3-2.The glass shattered after a hard check and play was halted, since there was just a little time left in the second they headed for the dressing rooms and would play the remainder of the time at the beginning of the third.

Bruins make it 4-2 with 3:04 left in the 2nd Matt Murray made a play on the puck but it slipped out of the glove and Colby Cave puts it into the net. WBS handed a chance on the power play but Austin Czarnik would tally a shorty to put the Penguins down by three now 5-2.

Things get a bit chippy in the third a few scrums a few penalties some 4 by 4 hockey but nothing in the way of scoring for the WBS Penguins. Try as they may WBS just could not find the right combination this afternoon to mount a come back. The Providence Bruins take todays game by the score of 5-2.
