San Jose - May 21, 2019 - The San Jose Sharks could be without defenseman Erik Karlsson and forwards Joe Pavelski and Tomas Hertl when they try to avoid elimination from the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the St. Louis Blues in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final at Enterprise Center on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVAS).

Each was injured in a 5-0 loss in Game 5 that gave St. Louis a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

"I'm not giving any injury or travel updates today," Sharks coach Peter DeBoer said Monday. "We'll dress whatever lineup gives us the best chance to win, so you know that's the best way I can answer that."

Karlsson's last shift in Game 5 ended with 7:04 remaining in the second period. Hertl appeared to be shaken up on a hit from Blues forward Ivan Barbashev 10:40 into the first but remained in the game until he did not come out for the third. Pavelski was injured 1:21 into the third on a hit from Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo.

"We've got guys that have played, we've got guys we are comfortable with," DeBoer said. "Next man up. ... Joe Thornton got suspended in the Vegas [Golden Knights] series (Game 4), we played without him. We played without Joe Pavelski for six games in the Colorado [Avalanche] series (Games 1-6)."

Karlsson is tied for second on the Sharks with 16 points (two goals, 14 assists). Hertl has 15 points (10 goals, five assists) in 19 games. Pavelski has nine points (four goals, five assists) in 13 games.

"I think it's all about depth this time of the year," said forward Joonas Donskoi, who missed 11 minutes of the third period before returning with 5:49 left. "That's playoff hockey. And [injuries] happens sometimes. Just have to live with that. ... I feel good about our depth. I feel like we have had a lot of guys out of the lineup too that I feel are great players and can play in this league, so it's not a problem."

Forward Marcus Sorensen has played in 17 postseason games but was scratched in two of the past three. He, along with Lukas Radil (six games) and Dylan Gambrell (one), are options to enter San Jose's lineup, as is defensemen Tim Heed (two).

The Sharks are 4-0 when facing elimination in the 2019 playoffs.

"We've dealt with this before and guys have stepped in and got the job done, so you know, people can write us off," DeBoer said. "But I know in our room, we know we've got guys that can get in there and get this done."
