Clarington - October 14, 2014 - Sarah Bobka is running for Public School Trustee, with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board - Clarington. Voters go to the polls on October 27th. OurHometown.ca is pleased to post this profile of Ms. Bobka.

I believe in excellent public education. I want all students to have a school experience that enables them to learn, grow and succeed. Access to innovative programs that include arts, phys-ed and technology must be a priority.

Our teachers, administrators and support staff work hard, and we need to ensure they have the tools and resources to serve our children well. But taxpayers’ funds must be used efficiently and I’ll help to ensure we’re doing the most we can with the dollars we have.

I have a child who’ll soon be off to school, as well as 10 nieces and nephews who attend schools in our Board - I’m living the education system. But, I have also worked in government and the private sector. I know how to get things done, how to bring people together and how to work with different levels of government.

I want our children in Clarington to have safe, effective and dynamic schools that help to prepare them for the changing world and their role in it. To achieve this I’ll look for innovative solutions and use my fresh perspective to serve our community. I’ve done this successfully in my professional life and I’ll do it as your KPRDSB Trustee.

I’ve been fortunate to be home with my daughter for the past two and a half years. My professional experience is in communications, sales and public relations, and I’m eager to use these skills as your Trustee.
