Immigrant tax credits, like Faith-Based schooling - are both non-issues
How any party can be stupid enough to make it a plank in a party platform boggles the mind. How the public can allow it to swing a vote is equally silly. The public turned on the PC Party the last time because of "faith based schools" - REALLY but the same applies as with the tax credit thing.

Cornwall - Sep. 13, 2011 -

  • We went to see the Cornwall Colts during training camp. It looked like they could fly and if they get goaltending like they did last year they should be heard from. Off to a good start at 2-0!

  • Looking forward to the start of high school football. Love it!

  • The word is Mayor Bob Kilger is ready to start back to work [slowly]. Good for him.

  • NFL is back. It could be wild with the new rules. Watch to see how many tackles are broken and how few "spearing" hits there are (Attacking with the crown of the head).

  • School;s back that means curling is not far off.

  • I got some feed back on my column about the french only clinic. I guess I was a little clumsy in making my point. I was trying to say the whole concept is unnecessary.

  • Very moving ceremonies for 9-11. I love that the Canadian contribution is remembered and how much the Americans appreciate it. It was really tough for me to watch families sobbing their hearts out at the memorial wall.

    RANTS
Well here we go the election parade is on.

I mentioned in an earlier piece, I was starting to feel sorry for politicans but the key is they behave the way they do because it works. The public can swing their votes on the damnest things - it is hard to believe. We have to wake up folks.

For example - How can a tax credit on a hand full of immigrants [all Canadian citizens] make any real difference to the public in general. They are all trying to find work in their chosen fields [already trained] and their usual problems are with the licensing boards who are busy protecting their own turf. These people are not taking anyone's job. These are skill sets we simply need.

How any party can be stupid enough to make it a plank in a party platform boggles the mind. How the public can allow it to swing a vote is equally silly. The public turned on the PC Party the last time because of "faith based schools" - REALLY but the same applies as with the tax credit thing. Both are not the kind of thing we swing votes on for or against any party.

All the parties have already started making promises they know they can't keep - just because they know we will bite on them. Come on folks we have much bigger fish to fry than these mickey mouse vote getters!

There are GOING to be serious cut backs starting right after the election and we will be saying the winner lied to us.

We want to know - we need to know - What the cuts are, How much, When and in what priority.

We also have to pray the feds don't download to the provinces and then thee provinces down onto the municipalities -like has happened before because they have nobody to dump besides us.

I do confess that if a candidate told their audience to sit down and takes notes, then proceeded to give real details noboby would vote for them. Whose fault is that folks? It always comes down to US!

We need to get them all to stop throwing crumbs at us and get their priorities in order and TAKE CARE OF OUR BUSINESS! Good luck.

Off to boston to have a Fenway experience.

    Keep Smiling
