Windsor - October 7, 2012 - The Windsor Spitfires continue their 2012-13 Ontario Hockey League season with a home game against the Sarnia Sting. The Spits will look to salvage some positive momentum before the end of the Thanksgiving weekend. The Spits have lost two games and have been outscored by a total of 13-2, so far this weekend. Game time is 2:05 pm.
Sarnia Sting
The Stings have a record of 2-3-0-1 so far this season and this ranks them last in the Western Conference. Montreal Canadiens first round pick Alex Galchenyuk leads the Sting in scoring with nine points in six games. Reid Boucher is second with seven points in the same number of games. The first overall selection of the Edmonton Oilers, Nail Yakupov, is still eligible to play for the Sting, however he is currently playing in the KHL during the NHL Lockout. The Sting are coming to town after 6-3 win over the Greyhounds in Sault Ste Marie, thanks to four points from Galchenyuk.
Windsor Spitfires
The Spitfires enter the game coming off a 5-0 home ice trouncing last night at the hands of the Guelph Storm. That game was followed up by another 8-2 rout in the Forest City courtesy of the London Knights. Jarolsav Pavelka was in goal for both games, but was not responsible for the losses. Windsor’s record now sits at 3-3-0-1. Montreal Draftee Brady Vail leads the team in scoring with nine points in seven games. Colorado Avalanche prospect Michael Clarke and NHL prospect Jordan Maletta lead the team with three goals each. The Spits have been outshot 87-45 during the two-game slide, while giving up five power play goals in 17 tries (29.4%).

It is expected that JP Anderson will get the start for Sarnia. Anderson has carried most ot the load for the Sting this season. Expect Pavelka to get a rest and Jordan DeKort to be between the pipes this afternoon for the Spits.
Parting thoughts
The game is Windsor's first of four in a row at home (Soo, Thursday Oct 11), Niagara (Sun, Oct 14) and Erie (Thursday, Oct 18th). The Spits are expected to wear their third, cream coloured jerseys this afternoon.
