Mayor Eddie Francis to welcome new basketball team to Windsor

Windsor’s new professional men’s basketball team is pleased to announce their first press conference to be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 11:15AM at the Spirit of Windsor in Dieppe Park. The City of Windsor, Ontario expansion bid was approved on June 28, 2012.

Windsor - July 31, 2012 - Windsor’s new professional men’s basketball team is pleased to announce their first press conference to be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 11:15AM at the Spirit of Windsor in Dieppe Park.

The City of Windsor, Ontario expansion bid was approved on June 28, 2012.

The ownership group will officially greet the public. The City of Windsor, Ontario’s Mayor, Eddie Francis along with other key stakeholders will be in attendance for this occasion.

A professional men’s basketball franchise brings unique benefits by putting Windsor on Canada’s national stage with the pride of participating in the NBL Canada League. The Windsor team addition expands the one year old league from 7 to 8 teams adding to last year’s national champion, London Lightning and the 401 basketball rivalry.
