Edmonton - July 20, 2012 - FC Edmonton announced the signing of both first team coaches and an import defender on Thursday.

Head coach Harry Sinkgraven; along with assistant coach Hans Schrijver have been extended through the 2013 season.

“I signed because I really like it here and the franchise and the club is growing so I see a lot of potential in this club,” Sinkgraven said. “We have a good owner who really wants to build something here. It’s nice to be a part of a growing franchise from the beginning.”

Schrijver also extended his contract and said he looks forward to the challenges ahead.

“Really, I’d like to stay here much longer because the job is not nearly done,” Schrijver said. “We are building a club together and a winning team. We’re in a situation where we aren’t winning games and that makes the challenge even bigger. I’m not happy that we’re not winning games right now but by sticking together, we’ll get there.”

The club also secured the rights to David Proctor. The 28-year-old defender has spent the previous five seasons in his home country playing for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Premier League.

“A few weeks ago I had been in touch with (technical director) Joe Petrone to discuss the idea of coming to Canada,” Proctor said. “A different country with a different lifestyle appealed to me so here I am.”

Proctor will be available for selection when the Eddies take on the Atlanta Silverbacks on Saturday.
