Cornwall - Nov. 11, 2011 - Ian MacInnis is likely counting the days until December rolls around. The Cornwall Colts lost their fourth straight game on Thursday night and are now winless in November. This time it was the visiting Hawkesbury Hawks who spoiled the night for the Colts, with a 3-2 victory at the Cornwall Civic Complex.

The Hawks opened the scoring on Francis Landers goal at 8:44 of the first period. Alexandre Gendron tied if for the Colts at 7:46 of the middle frame. Two minutes later Stefano Momesso restored the lead for Hawkesbury. Late in the period, Colts forward Michael Borkowski tied it at two for the home team. Jake Martin scored the winner midway through the final period.

The Cornwall Colts were without two star players as twins Tyson and Tylor Spink are playing for Canada East at the 2011 World Junior A Challenge in Langley, BC. It is a great opportunity and experience for the Spink boys, but it is clear their Cornwall teammates miss them in the lineup.

The Langley tournament ends on Sunday, so both Tyson and Tylor should be back in time for the Colts next game, when the host the Smiths Falls Bears next Thursday night. The Colts were also without the Rath twins and Kyle Baun.

The three stars of the game were Martin (1st), Hawkesbury’s Stephen Hrehoriak (2nd) and Cornwall’s Drew Henry (3rd). The game was played in front of 1,002 spectators at the Ed Lumley Arena.
