Stoney Point - May. 12, 2013 - My best friend reminded me today that being a Mom is the best and hardest job ever. It may be a cliche but it's so true. It's been a challenging, frustrating, enlightening, and wondrous journey for me the last three years.

I'm thankful we have my Mom here to celebrate the day and saddened that my husband's Mom is not with us. He did share a story from his childhood that showed the silly side of his Mom and it made my heart feel good.

We're including a fitting shot from our outing today. We traveled a portion of Lake Erie and one of our stops was a conservation area with some Moms and their kids hanging out on the water. They swam and the rest of us strolled the shore and found swings - simply a perfect day.
