Glengarry Fine Cheese took home top honours in the semi-soft cheese category at the 2011 Canadian Cheese Grand Prix.

Lancaster - Apr. 26, 2011 - A local cheese producer has been recognized for the quality of their products with a national award.

Lancaster-based Glengarry Fine Cheese took home top honours in the semi-soft cheese category at the 2011 Canadian Cheese Grand Prix for its Lankaaster Traditional Gouda.

Organized by the Dairy Farmers of Canada, the Canadian Cheese Grand Prix is the most prestigious cheese competition in Canada. Held every two years, it showcases the outstanding quality, variety, taste and versatility of Canadian cheese made from 100 per cent Canadian cow's milk. This year's competition received a record-high 203 entries from across the country.

The solid showing in the Grand Prix is just the latest milestone for Glengarry Fine Cheese, which has already built quite a name for itself in just a few short years.

The company specializes in gourmet cheeses made from local cow's milk and manufactured on site at their facility on County Road 34 in South Glengarry.
