Cornwall Public Library to host Writer
The Cornwall Public Library will be hosting Writer's Fest from April 1 to April 10.

Cornwall - Mar. 11, 2011 - Local writers will have a chance to learn more about their craft in April during a 10-day Writer's Fest at the Cornwall Public Library.

Being held in partnership with the Friends of the Cornwall Public Library, the Writer's Fest will see authors and writers from a variety of disciplines lending their expertise and sharing their personal experiences with those in attendance.

A total of 16 presentations will be offered covering a wide range of topics such as how to start your very own book club, how to research a book, getting published, and where to find inspiration for writing.

Organizers say the event will appeal to everyone, from the novice writer looking to get started to experienced writers ready to take their career or hobby to the next level.

The event is free of charge but registration is required for individual sessions. Prizes will be awarded to attendees throughout the event including the grand prize of an electronic book reader.

Her latest book, A New Leaf: Growing with my Garden, is a collection of essays rooted in her twenty–six gardens in eastern Ontario.
Reviewers have called her work, “Beautifully wrought, emotionally complex.” “Stories so solid they seem sculpted, yet so delicate they remain full of mystery.” “The observation of the details of life are Chekhovian in their accuracy.” Susan Halpren, writing in the New York Times, where Simonds’ novel was selected an Editor’s Choice, says, “Simonds is a careful, evocative writer, able to tease out colors from an overcast sky, to find depth in shadows.”
