Chesterville Farmers Market gears up for 2011 season
The Chesterville Farmers' Market will be opening on May 21, and it will run every Saturday until October 8.

Chesterville - Apr. 4, 2011 - The Chesterville Farmers' Market opened its doors for the first time in June 2003 with a mere eight vendors.

Today, the Saturday morning market is a must-visit for residents of Chesterville and beyond.

Building on the success of its first seven seasons, the Chesterville market will be kicking off its eighth season on May 21, and it will run until October 8 at the Chesterville Agricultural Fairgrounds on Queen Street.

Vendors at the market will be selling a wide range of goods such as fresh local produce, plants and herbs, home-baked goods, BBQ sauces, jams and jellies, honey and artisan crafts.

Once again an entertainment program will coincide with the monthly market themes. Visitors will be able to do their Saturday morning shopping while being entertained by local talent.

Every third Saturday of the month the market conducts a food drive to support the Dundas County FoodBank. Visitors are encouraged to bring in non-perishable goods for this worthy cause.

Also, a community table will be made available each week for local groups and organizations to utilize for the conduct of fundraising, recruiting or to raise community awareness for their cause.

This table will be available free of charge, however, persons or groups wishing to use the table will have to book it in advance.

To reserve the community table or to obtain further information about the market, please contact Cheryl Beasley at cbeasley@teksavvy.com.
