Colts face big test tonight against Lumber Kings
Ty Perry and the rest of the Cornwall Colts will have their work cut out for them tonight as they host the Pembroke Lumber Kings at the Cornwall Civic Complex (7:30 p.m.).

Cornwall - Feb. 23, 2011 - The Cornwall Colts will take on the Pembroke Lumber Kings tonight in a game that could very well decide the first seed heading into the playoffs.

Pembroke currently sits in first place in the Central Hockey League with 92 points (45-9-0-2), while Cornwall sits one point behind (45-12-1-0). The visiting Lumber Kings have two games in hand, which means a Colts' victory tonight is all the more important if they want to remain in the race for first place overall.

"It's a huge game for us," Colts head coach Ian MacInnis said in a recent interview with OurHometown.ca.

MacInnis said it's a challenging time of year as every team is battling hard in hopes of advancing or solidifying their place in the standings, and Pembroke isn't any different.

The Colts hold the advantage in the series with Pembroke this regular season, winning three of four previous encounters. However, the defending champion Lumber Kings are peaking at the right time, having won 10 of their last 12 games. Cornwall is looking to bounce back into the win column after losing their last two games, to Brockville and Carleton Place.

The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at the Cornwall Civic Complex.
