Cornwall - Mar. 9, 2011 - The hockey rivalry between St. Joseph's and Holy Trinity will be renewed on March 30 when the two Catholic high schools battle it out in the Bishop Cup.

Now in its fifth year, the Bishop Cup has become a great showcase of local hockey talent and school spirit while at the same time raising food and money for the St. Vincent de Paul food bank.

The cup match also helps to determine bragging rights between the two rivals. St. Joe's currently holds the edge in that department by winning the first three Bishop Cups, however Holy Trinity will be looking to build on their thrilling 6-5 overtime victory in last year's cup match.

This year's Bishop Cup will also present a twist in the form of the venue. With the Si Miller Arena set to be decommissioned in the near future, the game is being moved across Water Street to the Cornwall Civic Complex.

In an effort to maintain the enthusiastic atmosphere that the game has become known for, organizers are planning to section of the civic complex seating, with the Panthers faithful on the south side and the Falcons on the north side. All fans will be asked to sit in the section between the blue lines in an effort to maintain a lively atmosphere.

Organizers are also hoping to have the school bands present and that a "band war" of sorts will be created as a backrop to the on-ice action.

The Bishop Cup will begin at 6 p.m. with opening ceremonies, followed by puck drop at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
