Cornwall - Jun. 20, 2011 - There has been a need for a dog park in Cornwall and now Fence Depot has opened K-9 Courtyard Cornwall Off-Leash Dog Park. As an incentive for area residents to try the park, John Locke and the Fence Depot is allowing use of the park at no charge until July 3, 2011. After that date, Memberships will be required to gain access. Membership rates are $150.00 per year and a daily rate is available upon request.

The park is a two acre park divided into four sections. The first area is the display area and watering area, then you will pass through the three gate section where you will release or connect you leash to your dog. All three gates are to remain closed before and after you enter or leave the area for safety of your pet.

There are three areas for visitors to enjoy. You can enter through the west gate to the small dog park area approx 40' x 140'. Or you can enter through the south gate to the large dog area approximately 230' x 230'. Once you are in the large dog area you can go to the south west corner of the park and there is another area approx 40' x 80' which can be used for Doggie Birthday parties or if a trainer is interested in renting it for their training sessions.

There will be a timeout area located at the far east end of the park for the dogs that are misbehaving that members can use for one of their dogs and they would like to continue to enjoy the park with their other dog.

”We will be opening the east end of the park in middle to late July, just waiting for the grass to get stronger. Throughout the year we will be adding more trees for shade and installing solar park lights for members to be able to use the park at night,” says Locke.

All members will have a swipe card to enter and leave the park, and as such they will have access 24/7. Each dog will be given a tag that will identifiy that they are a member of the park.

As the park comes to fruition and members or Dog groups are interested in setting up events, Fence Depot isinterested in working with them to being their events to Cornwall. A waste bin is located at the entrance for all your pets dropping or garbage and there are park benches setup for you to use.

”We do not have the water supply installed yet but bring a container and we will set you up with some water,” adds Locke. “Upon becoming a member we will give you a bag of dog food approx value ($25.00) and you will be setup in our store to receive a 10% discount on all dog products you buy through our store, (except for dog food).”

Fence Depot and the "K-9 Courtyard Cornwall' Off Leash Dog Park welcomes everyone to stop in and visit, and bring your pet.
