SNAPSHOT - Local OPP officers raise $11,000 for Waite family
Long Sault - Jul. 13, 2011 - The #11 District OPPA Golf Tournament was held on June 30, 2011 at the Casselview Golf Club. A full slate of 148 golfers attended. This year’s event was held in memory of Inspector STEVE WAITE who recently succumbed to cancer. The proceeds from this event raised approximately $11,000.00 and will be presented to the Waite family.

During the solicitation of sponsors Detective Constables Jocelyn Sauvé and Mario Fedele approached Martel and Sons Inc. As a result a granite bench engraved with Inspector Waite’s portrait was donated. The bench will be placed in a park adjacent to the Hawkesbury detachment as a lasting tribute to Inspector Waite.

Thanks to all the volunteers and those that participated and made this event such a special occasion.
