OUR PAST - Pitt Street Promenade
Cornwall - Mar. 30, 2011 - Each week OurHometown.ca will post an old photo from our area. This week we are featuring a photo postcard of the Pitt Street Promenade. On the left side of the photo is the Colussus Restaurant, which later became Truffles Burger Bar. A severe fire on December 5, 2010 destroyed the building. Further down the street you can see Ford Jewellers which will now become the new home for Truffles. On the right of the photo, a large fountain can be seen. The Promenade was dug up and vehicular traffic returned to Pitt street in the early 1990's.
