Windsor International Childrens Games to be topic at Rotary Meeting
The Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) is pleased to announce that Nora Bertram-Romero will be our guest speaker at our luncheon meeting on July 22, 2013. Ms Bertram-Romero, who is the Community Development Officer in the Mayor’s Office, City of Windsor has worked on several community special event projects over the past 7 years including the Red Bull Air Race Championship, Provincial Special Olympics, Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, Vancouver Torch Relay 2010 and now the 47th annual International Children’s Summer Games.

Windsor - July 19, 2013 - The Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) is pleased to announce that Nora Bertram-Romero will be our guest speaker at our luncheon meeting on July 22, 2013. Ms Bertram-Romero, who is the Community Development Officer in the Mayor’s Office, City of Windsor has worked on several community special event projects over the past 7 years including the Red Bull Air Race Championship, Provincial Special Olympics, Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, Vancouver Torch Relay 2010 and now the 47th annual International Children’s Summer Games.

“The ICG will profile our region and showcase all of us on the world stage,” states Bertram-Romero. “We proudly work with a strong volunteer lead Games Organizing Team with over 60 professionals in the community who have willingly donated their time and expertise over the past 18 months in areas like sport management, hospitality services, transportation and the performing arts to ensure we present an amazing Opening and Closing Ceremonies.”

The United Way have recruited over 1200 volunteers and are working cohesively with The Multicultural Council, training a “Team Ambassador” volunteer group who will provide translation and shadow the visiting teams from over 81 cities around the globe. The media will have access to these same translators to assist with interviews to capture those amazing winning moments no matter what the language.

The club lunch meeting gets underway at noon. The Ms. Bertram-Romero is scheduled to begin her presentation at 1:00 pm and conclude by 1:30 pm. The Caboto Club is located at 2175 Parent Ave. at Tecumseh Rd. E.
