Cornwall - August 20, 2015 - The Centennial Choir of Cornwall is very pleased to be hosting the Trelawny Male Choir from Cornwall, England.

The Trelawny Male Choir is formed anew each tour. In September 2015 they will give their second tour to Canada. They will be performing in Toronto; Ottawa; Montreal; City of Cornwall, Ontario and Niagara. 85 choristers from 18 Cornish male voice choirs have come together under the Musical Directorship of Elaine Tangye. She is assisted by Deputy Director and Organist Philip Taylor with Piano Accompanist Elizabeth Sidebotham.

Cornwall is a region of the United Kingdom rich in musical heritage and male voice choirs. Trelawny Male Choir is proud to bring those traditions to Canada and thank the Cornish Association of Toronto, the Carleton Choir of Ottawa the Montreal Welsh Male Voice Choir, the Centennial Choir of Cornwall Ontario and the Niagara Men's Chorus for their assistance in making this tour possible.

The choir performs a variety of music including sacred, secular, classical and popular pieces with the aim of promoting Cornish music, singing and culture.

Members of the Trelawny Male Choir have sung at various prestigious venues with their own choirs including St. David's Hall in Cardiff, St. Paul's Cathedral in London, Worcester Cathedral and in 2013 at the massed Cornish Male Voice Concert held in the Royal Albert Hall in London. They have also taken part in music competitions such as the Eisteddfod at Llangollen in Wales, the International Music Festival in Malta, the Cornwall International Male Voice Choral Festival and other local music festivals.

This wonderful concert will be held at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 28 Second St. E. Cornwall, Ontario on Thursday, Sept. 17th at 7 pm.

Tickets are available at the Lottery Kiosk, Cornwall Square (2nd Floor); Home Hardware, 10 Thirteenth St. E., Cornwall; at St. John's Presbyterian Church and from choir members. Adults $15. Children 12 and under $7.

This will be an evening to remember!
