The Edmonton Oilers have recalled talented winger Linus Omark from Oklahoma City. The 25 year old Swede, will join the club today in Anaheim but there is no word on if he will be in the starting lineup tonight against the Ducks.

Edmonton - March 5, 2012 - The Edmonton Oilers have recalled talented winger Linus Omark. The twenty-five year old Swede will join the club today in Anaheim but there is no word on if he will be in the starting lineup tonight against the Ducks. With Edmonton scheduled to play the Sharks on Tuesday night and Omark coming of three games in three nights with the Oklahoma City Barons, it seems unlikely that he would dress tonight.

Omark has only played eighteen games in OKC this season, after suffering a broken ankle in early November. The diminutive winger has scored six goals and added ten assists while in Oklahoma City and to be honest, he should be playing in the NHL. The kid is to skilled to be playing in the AHL on a full time basis and he will be given the Oilers final eighteen games to prove to them and every other organization, that he deserves a shot at a full time job next season.

One would think, Linus is coming up to play in a top six role and with Taylor Hall and Ales Hemsky pretty much being locks to play with one another, that would leave his most likely destination on a line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle. The only other option that would seem to make sense, would be reuniting the Hall- RNH - Eberle line and going with a second unit of Omark - Sam Gagner - Hemsky.

Regardless, it appears as though the talented Swede will finally be given a shot to play with this clubs most talented players and we shall see how he does. I wouldn't bet against him putting up numbers in this role and hence making Edmonton's decision of what to do with the feisty little winger moving forward, a difficult one.
