Cornwall - Jul. 18, 2011 - Another great night of racing at Cornwall Motor Speedway with the Patriot Sprint Tour in town for their annual visit along with the first visit in a long time for the Lightning Mini-Sprint Series. A full field of Sprint Car in both classes were on hand as the Modifieds, Pro-Stock and Mini-Stock also saw some action as they had regular feature on Nortrax sponsored night.

In the 12-lap Mini-Stock feature, Daniel Desnoyer got the early lead and led the first 6 laps. Desnoyers built himself a sizeable lead as Mike Gaucher and Ben Nurse were going into battle for second. Gaucher brought the caution with 2 laps to go as point`s leader Ernie Cree was now in third spot. Desnoyers led the final dash to win his second feature in a row in front of Cree and David Seguin completed the podium.

A thunderstorm came in just as the Patriot Sprint tour cars, were pushed on the track. The Modifieds and Pro-Stock features will be completed next week. The Patriot Sprint Tour and Lightning Sprints groups will be in discussion with Cornwall management to reschedule the feature races later on during the season. We will advise everyone as soon as decisions will be made.

The action continues next week with a complete race program with 5 classes in action. The Karting Club will do a demonstration during the intermission.
