Flyers trade Jeff Carter, Mike Richards - Sign Ilya Brygalov
The Philadelphia Flyers were the busiest team today, as the 30 NHL teams prepare to head into tomorrow's annual Entry Draft. The Flyers acquired forward Jakub Voracek, a first-round draft pick and a third-round draft pick in 2011 from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for forward Jeff Carter. They also acquired forwards Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn, and a second-round draft pick in 2012 from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for forward Mike Richards. Lastly, they signed goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov to a multi-year contract.

Cornwall - Jun. 23, 2011 - The Philadelphia Flyers were the busiest team today, as the 30 NHL teams prepare to head into tomorrow's annual Entry Draft.

As posted on TSN.ca, the Flyers acquired forward Jakub Voracek, a first-round draft pick and a third-round draft pick in 2011 from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for forward Jeff Carter.

They also acquired forwards Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn, and a second-round draft pick in 2012 from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for forward Mike Richards. Lastly, they signed goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov to a multi-year contract.

It is rumoured that the Bryzgalov deal will make him the highest paid NHL player next season.

It is unclear what other moves might happen in advance of tomorrow's Entry Draft. The NHL's deadline to sign any unrestricted free agents is July 1st.

The next week promises to be very interesting with NHL news. The Entry Draft, free agency and the new name of the Winnipeg franchise are all story lines to follow.
