Colts keep perfect start to season alive with win over Raiders
The Cornwall Colts delighted 1,017 fans at the Ed Lumley arena on Thursday night as they defeated the Nepean Raiders 4-1. With the win the Colts improve to a perfect 6-0 for the season. Nepean opened the scoring at 6:15 of the first period on a goal by Ryan Johnston.

Cornwall - Sep. 23, 2011 - The Cornwall Colts delighted 1,017 fans at the Ed Lumley arena on Thursday night as they defeated the Nepean Raiders 4-1. With the win the Colts improve to a perfect 6-0 for the season.

Nepean opened the scoring at 6:15 of the first period on a goal by Ryan Johnston. Marly Quince tied it for the Colts five minutes into the second and the game was tied 1-1 after 40 minutes.

Colts’ forward Michael Borkowski scored just 22 seconds into the third period and then scored another on the powerplay about five and half minutes later to give the home team a 3-1 lead. Michael Phillips also added a Cornwall powerplay goal in the third to round out the scoring.

The three stars of the game were Cornwall goaltender Lukas Hafner (1st), Borkowski (2nd) and Colts rear guard Youssef Kabbaj (3rd). Nepean outshot Cornwall 37-22 but couldn’t come away with the win.

The Colts are in action again this Sunday when they travel to Navan to take on the Cumberland Grads.
