Cornwall - November 20, 2011 - It was a night that the Akwesasne Warriors would like to forget. The 1000 Islands Privateers came to Akwesasne and trounced the Warriors by a score of 8-2 in front of 335 fans.

The Privateers were up 2-0 after the first frame on goals by Adam McAllister and Steve McJannet. Pierre Dagenais made it a 2-1 game when he scored for the Warriors midway through the second but that was as close as this game would get.

Paul Kelly scored for 1000 Islands and McAllister rounded out his hat-trick before the end of 40 minutes. Carter Trevisani made it 5-2 early in the third, however the Privateers would score three more goals. Michael Richard, Tyler Fernandez and Matt Kinnunen all added to the Privateers lead.

As you can imagine in a game with such a one-sided score, it was also a spirited affair. A total of 146 minutes in penalties were handed out by referee Jean Hotte. The game saw a total of five fights. Squaring off for the Warriors were Alain Quenneville, Mathieu Raby, Ahmed Mahfouz, Paul Shantz, and Patrick Deraspe. Four of the five names in that list played for the Cornwall Comets.

With the loss Akwesasne falls to 6-4-0 on the season and 1000 Islands improve to an impressive 9-1. The Warriors next game is this Thursday night when they play host to Danbury at the Massena Arena. Game time is 7:05 pm.
