Warriors beat Danbury, Snap losing streak
Akwesasne Warriors in their second game of a three game home stretch this week will play the Danbury Whalers in back to back action Friday and Saturday nights. The Warriors are looking to break their 3 straight game losing streak. David Plouffe was back between the pipes.

Akwesasne - November 26, 2011 - Akwesasne Warriors in their second game of a three game home stretch this week will play the Danbury Whalers in back to back action Friday and Saturday nights. The Warriors are looking to break their 3 straight game losing streak. David Plouffe was back between the pipes this evening for the Warriors after Adam Thompson's loss to the Danville Thrasher in a shootout.

In the first period of play both teams battled hard for the first goal of the game, playing end-to-end hockey. Miguel Delisle fed the puck to Dan Tessier at 14:59 for his first goal of the season for the Warriors. With a minute and forty seconds left in the period Kelly Miller was robbed by David Plouffe on the rebound for a chance to tie the game. At the end of the first period the Warriors led 1-0.

The Warriors played a more physical game during the second period. Ahmed Mahfouz up ended Danbury's Stephane Mallaro into the Warriors bench. Pierre Dagenais score the second goal of the game giving the Warriors a two nothing lead at 1:09. With the Warriors on a power play Kelly Miller would get a short handed unassisted goal at 16:09 making it a one goal lead for the Warriors. At 17:39 Warriors Patrick Draspe would skate hard to the net taking a shot and would be denied a goal by Peter Vetri, but with Martin Beaulne and Addison Pelkey there for the rebound they would feed the puck back to Deraspe for the 3rd goal of the game finishing the second period with the Warriors having a 2 goal lead over Danbury.

With the Warriors changing their lines this evening, after a third period of play would show to be successful. They are finishing their checks and going to hard to the net with much success. At 11:30 of the third period Deschalets would take a pass from former NHLer Pierre Dagenais giving them an assurance goal making it 4-1 . Paul Shantz and Corey Fulton would drop the gloves at 6:52 left in the third trading punches back and fourth, giving the fans what they wanted a good tilly. Danbury fighting hard to come back in the game , Carlo Ricci would score 18:23 but the clock would soon count down with the game finishing as the Warriors won 4-2.
