Thousand Islands Privateers Even The Score
The Privateers evened the score against the Akwasasne Warriors in the 2nd playoff gamer at home at the Bonnie Castle Rec Center Saturday Night, 9-4. Led by a host of scores from Tibor Varga, the Privateers handled the Warriors in front of a home crowd of 1070 to even the post season effort at 1-1.

Alexandria Bay - March 11, 2012 - The Privateers evened the score against the Akwasasne Warriors in the 2nd playoff gamer at home at the Bonnie Castle Rec Center Saturday Night, 9-4. Led by a host of scores from Tibor Varga, the Privateers handled the Warriors in front of a home crowd of 1070 to even the post season effort at 1-1.

While Brad Smulders started the scoring early for the Privateers, in the fisrt followed by Adam McAllister, and Miguel DeLisle , then Smuldres again, then came the onslaught from Varga, The Warriors tied in vain to match the scoring at the 1st period to no avail.

Thus the Privateers led the way through the 2nd with Vargas scoring 4 in a row for the big lead. Ahmed Mahfouz scored for the Warriors at the end of the 2nd to bring Akwasasne to an 8-2 deficit.

Martin Beauline netted twice for the Warriors in the 3rd to try to narrow the gap, but Baumgartner scored again for 1000 Islands to stretch the lead and seal the deal.

With the first round of the playoff series tied at b1 a piece, the warriors will face off against the Privateers tomorrow, Sunday March 11th at 5:05pm at the Bonnie Castle rec center in Alex Bay.
