London - August 4, 2012 - The Canadian Olympic Committee issued the following statement on three Canadians being inducted into the FILA Hall of Fame: 2000 Olympic gold medallist Daniel Igali (Athlete category), Wrestling official and executive Mario Saletnig (Leader category) and Daniel Robin (Athlete category), who won two medals for France in the 1968 Olympic Games before emigrating to Canada and becoming an influential coach.

Wrestling Canada Lutte is thrilled to see three Canadians inducted to the international wrestling Hall of Fame. Daniel Igali's contribution to wrestling goes way beyond the wrestling mat - through his humanitarian philantropy and his highly successful career at both the domestic and international scenes, he inspired a new generation of wrestlers in Canada. His victory in Sydney will remain forever engraved in the Olympic memories of all of us Canadians. Along with Igali, Mario Saletnig and Daniel Robin have both been instrumental in the development of Canadian wrestlers, and played an integral part in the success and growth of the sport in Canada. Congratulations to all three for their induction.
