Cornwall - Sep. 24, 2011 - The Science and Nature Speaker Series returns on Wednesday, September 28, 7 pm at the Cornwall Public Library.

The River Institute’s own Dr. Brian Hickey will give a talk called, ‘Bats: Myths and Reality’ - a look at the role bats play in natural ecosystems and the threats facing bat populations around the world.

Dr. Hickey has studied bats in North America, Mexico and Africa, and is one of Canada’s leading authorities on bat ecology. He works at the St. Lawrence River Institute as a research scientist, ecologist, and educator.

Dr. Hickey’s interest in all living things, combined with his beautiful photos and engaging speaking style come together in a terrific presentation that the whole family will enjoy!

The Science and Nature Speaker Series is intended for anyone interested in learning more about animals, insects, chemicals, nature, and the environment here in Ontario, and around the world. Presentations take place every month at the Cornwall Public Library.

Admission is free, however, space is limited. To reserve your spot, please call the River Institute at 613-936-6620.

Please join us at the Cornwall Public Library on Wednesday, September 28, at 7 pm.
