Apr. 9, 2020: Brian Masse M.P. (Windsor West), NDP Innovation, Science, Economic Development and Auto Critic wrote to the Prime Minister requesting further action to protect health care workers on both sides of the border. As of today, over 2200 health care workers at just two Detroit area health systems, Beaumont Health and Henry Ford Health systems, have tested positive for COVID19. All health care workers, those who work in Canada and those who cross the border to work the United States, should not have bear additional costs while engaging in this fight to protect all of us. Mar. 28, 2020: Brian Masse M.P. (Windsor West), NDP Innovation, Science, Economic Development and Auto Critic wrote to the Prime Minister requesting further action to prevent the spread of COVID-19 from the state of Michigan which has become an outbreak hotspot. The circumstances in Michigan have become vastly different in just a week and to reduce the danger to Canadians and residents in Windsor and all border communities in similar situations, I am requesting the government to consider additional measures. (Windsor West), NDP Innovation, Science, Economic Development Critic, heard witnesses at the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and technology in relation to his motion on stopping robocalls in Canada. I have heard from numerous constituents and Canadians who are fed up with the constant barrage of unsolicited nuisance calls and fraud calls coming to their homes and cell phones at all hours of the day, said Masse. Feb. 28, 2020: Windsor West MP Brian Masse was re-elected as Vice-Chair to the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group Wednesday night at the Group’s Annual General Meeting for the eighth time since 2006. He is honoured to represent Canada in the United States in this capacity and to continue his work with leaders on both sides of the Canada-United States border to advance issues of concern. Aug. 13, 2013: The owners of the Detroit International Bridge Co. have elected to increase the tolls on their crossing. This 5 percent fare increase on international travelers utilizing the Ambassador Bridge is essentially an additional border tax that will take money out of the pockets of travelers, commuters and businesses. It will apply to automobiles, passenger vehicles, station wagons, personal vans and empty pickups from $4.75/crossing to $5.00/crossing effective August 15th. FULL STORY
