Lamoureux Park comes alive with Winterfest 2011

Fireworks lit up the night sky over Lamoureux Park on Sunday evening as part of the Storm Realty Cornwall Winterfest.

Cornwall - Feb. 20, 2011 - It may be the dead of winter, but Lamoureux Park was alive Sunday with the sights and sounds of Storm Realty Cornwall Winterfest 2011.

Residents of all ages flocked to Lamoureux Park Sunday for a full day of fun, games and music in a mini winter wonderland.

Despite some unseasonably warm temperatures late last week, festival organizers still managed to get the giant outdoor rink up and running in time to satisfy local skating enthusiasts.

Fireworks always draw a big crowd, and that certainly proved to be the case on Sunday evening as residents flocked to the waterfront to watch a spectular fireworks display (see video below).

The festival continues today with a full slate of activities in the park and civic complex. The Snow Jam will also be taking place at the Big Ben Ski Centre. For the full list of activities, click here.
