Cornwall - Mar. 7, 2011 - Motorists in Cornwall should pay special attention to traffic signs or it could end up costing them.

As part of its ongoing Traffic Action Plan, the Cornwall Community Police Service will be conducting targeted enforcement of sign violations throughout the month of March.

According to a press release from the police service, officers will be on the lookout for drivers who fail to obey stop signs, yield signs, no turn or u-turn signs along with various other traffic sign violations.

"There will be zero tolerance in regards to an offence in which the public safety is of concern," reads the press release.

A failure to abide by traffic laws can result in a $110 fine, not to mention serious injuries or even death.
