OPP attend park, make two separate arrests
The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Ontario Provincial Police: On July 20, 2011, SD&G OPP officers responded to two separate calls for service at a Park/Beach area on Canada Way in the Village of Morrisburg. At approximately 5:00pm, an SD&G OPP officer responded to a report of several males consuming alcohol at the above noted location.

Morrisburg - Jul. 22, 2011 - The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Ontario Provincial Police:

On July 20, 2011, SD&G OPP officers responded to two separate calls for service at a Park/Beach area on Canada Way in the Village of Morrisburg.

At approximately 5:00pm, an SD&G OPP officer responded to a report of several males consuming alcohol at the above noted location. The officer located the males who were intoxicated. Two were subsequently arrested and became verbally abusive and resistant towards the officer. One of the accused assaulted (kicked) the officer.

A 45yr old male from Prescott is charged with; Assault Peace Officer, Being Intoxicated in a Public Place (Liquor Licence Act).

A 16yr old male youth (son of above accused) from Morrisburg is charged with; Obstruct Peace Officer, Fail to Comply with Condition (from previous police related incident).

Both are scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on September 6, 2011 to answer to the Criminal charges.

At approximately 7:15pm, another SD&G OPP officer on patrol observed a male consuming alcohol at the above noted location. Upon speaking to the accused, he became verbally abusive and showed signs of intoxication. The officer arrested the male who became resistant physically and also threatened the officer.

Michael OSBORNE, 21 of South Dundas is charged with; Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer, Utter Threats, Being Intoxicated in a Public Place (Liquor Licence Act), Having Open Liquor in other than a licensed premise (Liquor Licence Act)

He is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on September 6, 2011 to answer to the Criminal charges.
