Cornwall Police busy over Civic Holiday weekend
The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Cornwall Police Service: Aaron Collins, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on the 30th of July, 2011. It is alleged that on the 30th of July, 2011 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division located a motor vehicle and found him in possession of stolen a license plate.

Cornwall - Aug. 2, 2011 - The following is an official media release and/or announcement from the Cornwall Police Service:

DRUGS
Cornwall, ON- On the 30th of July, 2011, a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and as a result of the investigation, a quantity of what was believed to be marijuana was located. Both the youth driver and passenger were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. They were released to appear in court on the 18th and the 25th of August, 2011 to answer to the charges.

FRAUD & FORGED DOCUMENT
Cornwall, ON- A 29 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 30th of July, 2011. It is alleged that on or about the 11th of July, 2011 she fraudulently obtained a government cheque that was payable to her 32 year-old ex-husband and cashed it after forging his signature. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Fraud and make forged Document. She was released to appear in court on the 6th of September, 2011 to answer to the charges. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
Cornwall, ON- Aaron Collins, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on the 30th of July, 2011. It is alleged that on the 30th of July, 2011 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division located a motor vehicle and found him in possession of stolen a license plate. He was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and released to appear in court on the 16th of August, 2011 to answer to the charge.

WARRANT
Cornwall, ON- Christopher Kootoo-Dupuis, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on the 30th of July, 2011 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on the 5th of July, 2011 he failed to attend court and a bench warrant was issued. He was located and released to appear in court on the 13th of September, 2011.

Cornwall, ON- Robert Jeffrey Sauve, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on the 31st of July, 2011 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. He is bound by two Undertaking with the relevant conditions of to observe a curfew by remaining in your residence between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., present yourself at the door when requested by a police officer at your residence and Keep the Peace and be of Goof Behaviour. It is alleged that on the 15th of July, 2011, at approximately 10:30 p.m. a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Service observed him not being in his residence. The Police officer attended his residence however there was no answer at the door. He was located and charged with two counts of Breach of Undertaking and released to appear in count on the 16th of August, 2011 to answer to the charges.

Cornwall, ON- Jordan Ernest Benedict, 25 of Akwesasne was arrested on the 31st of July, 2011 under the strength of three outstanding Committal Warrant. It is alleged that on the 26th of November, 2010 the warrant was sought. He was located by members of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police and turned over to the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was held in custody until court the following day.

DOMESTIC BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE
Cornwall, ON- A 40 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 30th of July, 2011. The male was bound by a Recognizance with relevant condition not to associate or communicate directly or indirectly with a certain female. It is alleged that on the 30th of July, 2011 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division located the male with the said female while conducting a traffic stop. The male was charged with Breach of Recognizance and held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the female.

THEFT & BREACH OF UNDERTAKING
Cornwall, ON- Ronald Robert Savard, 51 of Cornwall was arrested on the 30th of July, 2011. He was bound by an Undertaking with the relevant condition to Keep the peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the 25th of July, 2011 he attended a Brookdale Avenue store and committed theft. He was charged with Theft under $5000.00 and Breach of Undertaking. He was released to appear in court on the 23rd of August, 2011 to answer to the charges.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE
Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating the theft of a two door, black, 1998 Volkswagon UCL from a Sixth Street East address sometime between 9:30 p.m. on the 29th of July 2011 and 2:00 pm on the following day. If you have any information regarding the theft of this vehicle, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating the theft of a red, 1995 GMC Sonoma Pick Up truck with a trailer attached to it from a Fifth Street East address at approximately 10:40 p.m. on the 30th of July 2011. If you have any information regarding the theft of this vehicle, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

BREACH OF PROHIBITION ORDER & RESIST ARREST
Cornwall, ON- Michel Joseph Maybury, 57 of Martintown was arrested on the 31st of July, 2011. He was bound by a lifetime Prohibition Order to abstain from attending a public park or public swimming area where persons under the age of fourteen years are present or can reasonably be expected to be present or a daycare centre, school ground, playground or community centre. It is alleged that on the 31st of July, 2011, he was observed in Lamoureaux Park and was located by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division inside a motor vehicle parked in the parking lot of the Cornwall Civic Complex. Upon being placed under arrested, he resisted and struggled with police officers. He was charged with breach of his Prohibition Order and Resist Arrest. He was held in custody until court the following day.

PERSONATION & OBSTRUCT POLICE
Cornwall, ON- Jason Leduc, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on the 31st of July, 2011. It is alleged that on the 31st of July, 2011 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop at which time he provided a false name. His identify was confirmed and he was charged with Personation with intent and Obstruct Police. He was released to appear in court on the 16th of August, 2011 to answer to the charges.

BREACH OF CONDITIONAL SENTENCE
Cornwall, ON- Jamie Theodore Contant, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on the 31st of July, 2011. He was bound by a Conditional Sentence Order dated on the 16th of June, 2011, with relevant condition for the next 60 days, under house arrest except for attendance to supervisor's office or as permitted by probation officer in writing. It is alleged that on the 31st of July, 2011, he was located by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service to be away from his residence. He was charged with Breach of Conditional Sentence Order and held in custody until court the following day.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 21 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 1st of August, 2011. It is alleged that she engaged into an altercation with her 23 year-old boyfriend when she assaulted him. The victim did not suffer any injuries as a result of the incident. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Domestic Assault and released to appear in court on the 30th of August, 2011 to answer to the charge. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.
