The second annual “Tastings in the Glens” is set for Saturday September 10, 2011 at the Metcalfe Centre in Maxville from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. The event is a celebration of fine wine, beer, spirits and food and a fundraiser for Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Maxville - Aug. 24, 2011 - The second annual “Tastings in the Glens” is set for Saturday September 10, 2011 at the Metcalfe Centre in Maxville from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. The event is a celebration of fine wine, beer, spirits and food and a fundraiser for Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation. It brings together Ontario wineries, microwbreweries, distellieries, restaurants and caterers to offer guests a taste of their delights.

The Hospital is located in the heart of Glengarry County, in the town of Alexandria, ON. It serves a bilingual community of over 20,000 people, located exactly half way between Montreal and Ottawa - just one hour to two of Canada's largest urban markets!

Tickets are $10.00 in advance, $15.00 at the door. Advance tickets are ONLY available at the Alexandria and Maxville Scotiabank locations.

Vendors include Sleeman Breweries Ltd., The Companions of The Quaich, Beau's All Natural Brewery, Mill Street Brewery, Colio Estate Wines, Pelee Island Winery, Vankleek Hill Vineyard, Steam Whistle Brewery, Casa-Dea Estates, Amsterdam Beer, Le Vieux Chateau “Catering”, Georgian House Restaurant, Pure Joy Sushi, Thums Kitchen Thai Cuisine, Sweet Tooth Bakery, Port 34 Restaurant, Mary's Fine Foods Decadent Market, Sweet Creations “Specialty Chocolates” and Marc Dacosta & Jamaican Patties.

Guests will purchase tokens to sample food and beverages. A portion of the sales will benefit the Hospital Foundation. There also will be prize draws and live entertainment!

Live entertainment will include Quigley Pipe Band, Fridge Full Of Empties, Lee McKinnon, and Bang on the ear. Many thanks to the entertainers who will all perform for free!

You can purchase tokens, upon arrival, to sample the various food offerings. Plenty of FREE parking or take the shuttle bus service to and from the Glengarry Sports Palace from 2 to 7 PM.

Proceeds from this event to support the Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation.
