OPP lay additional charges against Gananoque man
On the afternoon of Thursday September 8, 2011, officers of the Leeds County Crime Unit of Ontario Provincial Police arrested Steven J. OFFORD, age 61, of Gananoque Ontario. OFFORD was arrested after further disclosures were made to O.P.P. investigators, resulting in two new charges, of committing a gross indecency and indecent assault on a male.

Gananoque - Sep. 9, 2011 - On the afternoon of Thursday September 8, 2011, officers of the Leeds County Crime Unit of Ontario Provincial Police arrested Steven J. OFFORD, age 61, of Gananoque Ontario. OFFORD was arrested after further disclosures were made to O.P.P. investigators, resulting in two new charges, of committing a gross indecency and indecent assault on a male.

The two new charges relate to incidents alleged to have occurred in the early 1980s. Steven OFFORD will be appearing in court on Friday, September 9 in Brockville in regards to the two new charges as well as other nine previous charges. The eleven criminal charges laid against Steven OFFORD relate to allegations that involve seven individual victims, dating from 1976 through to the early 1990s.

The O.P.P. is continuing their investigation, and anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to call the Ontario Provincial Police at 613-659-5200 or 1-888-310-1122 and ask to speak to a member of the Leeds County O.P.P. Crime Unit.
