Cornwall - Oct. 16, 2011 - The S, D & G Coalition for Social Justice invites you to attend a spaghetti supper at the Army/Navy/Air Force Veteran's Club (14 Marlborough Street in Cornwall) on Friday October 28th to honour the memory of Denise Vernier, a local activist and campaigner who passed away earlier this year.

In spite of many obstacles she herself faced, Denise was a passionate advocate for those who live on the Ontario Disability Support Program and worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the socioeconomic problems many must deal with. She is greatly missed.

The doors will open at 5:30 pm and the meal will be served shortly thereafter. Admission is $10.00 and will include the following: Spaghetti with your choice of meat or vegetarian sauce, caesar salad, dinner rolls, dessert, coffee or tea.

A silent auction will also be held and a selection of guest speakers will be on hand. There will also be guest speakers and entertainment.

Some tickets will be available at the door, but if you are planning to attend, please purchase tickets in advance at the Le Village Flea Market, 327 Montreal Road. You can also purchase tickets directly from SD&G Coalition for Social Justice members. More locations for advance tickets will be announced soon.

For further information, please phone Helene Paquin, chair of the SD&G Coalition for Social Justice, at 613-938-6937 or visit the event page on Facebook.
