Cornwall Council to use interest of Progress Fund for Benson Centre
Despite opposition from Coun. Bernadette Clement who wanted to examine this further, Council voted in favour of using the interest generated from the Progress Fund to finance the principal and interest payments required to fund the municipal portion of the Benson Centre capital project (approximately $10.7 million).

Cornwall - Oct. 25, 2011 - Culture Plan Committee: Lay appointments to the Culture Plan Committee were announced. The committee has Regional representation from Stephen Byveld of South Dundas, Rose Desnoyers of South Glengarry, Jeremy Pommier of South Stormont, and Carma Williams of North Glengarry. The committee has arts community representation from Joshua Welsh of the Youth Advisory, musicians Rodney Rivette and Graham Greer, and visual artists Paul Madan and Vincent Pilon. The committee has four community members at large, Jane McLaren, Melyssa Burke, Todd Bennett, and Vanessa Regnier.

Progress Fund to pay City Debt on Benson Centre: Despite opposition from Coun. Bernadette Clement who wanted to examine this further, Council voted in favour of using the interest generated from the Progress Fund to finance the principal and interest payments required to fund the municipal portion of the Benson Centre capital project (approximately $10.7 million).

The next Cornwall City Council meeting is Monday November 14th 2011.
