Cornwall Fire Department responds to report of fire
At 09:30 on Friday November 25, a call was received by the 911 operator advising of a fire inside a building at the corner of Brookdale and Tollgate.

Cornwall - November 25, 2011 - At 09:30 on Friday November 25, a call was received by the 911 operator advising of a fire inside a building at the corner of Brookdale and Tollgate.

The Response
The Cornwall Fire Department responded with five vehicles and 10 firefighters.

The Summary
Upon arrival fire was not visible from the exterior of the building, and the building had been evacuated. When the fire crew proceeded inside, the sprinkler system had activated in the area of concern. An employee on site used a dry chemical fire extinguisher as well on this area.

A small amount of merchandise was damaged as well as minor damage to one of the walls. Crew was on scene for approximately 60 minutes. After ensuring there was no fire extension inside the structure. The scene was turned over to Fire Prevention Office for fire cause and determination.
