Penguins Spooked In Halloween Night OT

Wilkes-Barre Scranton - November 1, 2014 -

It was the beginning of a road trip for the WBS Penguins as they traveled down to Norfolk on this Halloween night to try to spook up a victory. The Admirals would have their tricks all ready to treat the Penguins to a loss.

The WBS Penguins would get on the boards first with a nice goal from Dominick Uher giving his team a nice lift not even five minutes into the contest, but it wouldn't be long lived success -as the Norfolk Admirals netted a goal of their own about twelve minutes later Brandon Yip would get the credit.

That would be all the tricks and treats for the first period leaving the ice even at one after one period of play.

The second period saw some great end to end hockey but there was nothing that seemed to want to go in the net, on either end. There were a few chances that looked good but that would be about it. Heading off the ice for the second intermission the score remained the same, no not Led Zeppelin, 1-1.

The third looked like it was going to be the Penguins period as just over four minutes in Tom Kostopoulos lit the lamp putting the Penguins up by one but still had a lot of hockey to go. Again Norfolk shuts the door and evens up the score this time just 34 seconds later making it all even at 2.

That's where the regulation would end fans despite the ghoulish attempts to score the Penguins just didn't have the right costumes tonight and this game was destined for OT.

It didn't take the Norfolk Admirals long to give the Penguins a fright as Brandon Yip tallied his second of the game ending the OT and giving the Admirals the second point on the night. That was the game fans Norfolk Admirals two WBS Penguins one; on the up side if there is one in a loss is that the WBS Penguins carry a point out of the contest for the regulation tie.
