Windsor - Mar. 29, 2019: The Windsor Spitfires competed hard on Thursday night in front of 2,889 fans at the WFCU Centre, but ultimately fell to the London Knights. London completed the four game sweep of the Spits, thus ending the season for Windsor. Windsor - Oct. 13, 2017: 4,870 Windsor Spitfires fans were treated to a pre-game and post-game celebration in a 3-1 win over rivals London Knights.
During the pre-game raising of the Memorial Cup championship banner, the London Knights opted not to participate in the ceremonies to add salt, to their still healing, wounds. London - Sep. 22, 2017: Saddled with five penalties in the third period, the penalty kill came up huge for the visiting Spitfires in a big, 5-2 win over the Knights at Bud Gardens on Friday night. Windsor (2-0-0-0) killed six penalties in all and is now a perfect 12-for-12 to start the season, fending off chance after chance by a London (0-1-0-0) team never led in its 2017-18 season and home opener. Windsor - Mar. 30, 2017: The Windsor Spitfires have pushed the defending Memorial Cup Champion London Knights to the brink of elimination with an exciting 3-2 overtime win. The Spits now take a commanding 3-1 series lead with them into Game 5 Friday night at the Budweiser Gardens. Chicago Blackhawks prospect Graham Knott was the hero of the night scoring both the game’s first and last goals. Toronto - Mar. 28, 2017: The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of a further review of incidents which took place as part of the playoff game played in London on the 26th of March, 2017, involving the Knights and the visiting Windsor Spitfires Hockey Club.
