Wilkes-Barre Scranton - December 12, 2014 -

Another exciting Saturday night at the PPL center in Allentown as the WBS Penguins took on the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, who knew it would turn out to be a nail biter.

It was early in the first period the Penguikns looking like they were playing on a full tank of gas but, Murray coughs up a fat albert rebound and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms put it in making it a 1-0 game just over a minute in, Straka would get the credit for the tally. Adam Payerl and Steven Delisle would do a little dance sounded even.

The WBS Penguins would get two power play chances during the first period but would have nothing to show for it at the buzzer, Lehigh Valleys Anthony Solarz stopped some great shots keeping his team In the lead.

The WBS penguins getting some good chances in the second period outshooting the Lehigh Valley phantoms but just not finding an opening to get the puck in the net.

End to end hockey all period but the score remained the same 1-0 Phantoms heading for the dressing room WBS had to be thinking, just one just one.

Third period was again end to end hockey with a lot of action but no scoring to be had for the WBS Penguins as they trailed the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 1-0 since 1:17 of the first period.

With just over two minutes left in regulation J. S. Dea finds a hole in Stolarz armor and evens up the game at one. That’s where regulation wood end everything tied up at one apiece and OT hanging in the wings.

It was an exciting OT but neither side came out of it with a goal lots of chances but no scoring so onto the shootout.

First shooter was Archibald for WBS and scores. Straka took the ice for Lehigh Valley and scored. Sheary missed for WBS Akeson went next for the Phantoms and missed Kuhnhackl comes in for WBS Penguins lifts it top shelf and scores making it 2-1 WBS, but Leier came in on Matt Murray and scored making it even at 2 so on we went.

Jayson Megna took to the ice for WBS in the fourth round of the shootout but did nor produce, it came down to Matt Murray and Nick Cousins and Lehigh Valley came away with the win beating the WBS Penguins 2-1 in the shootout
