Wilkes-Barre Scranton - December 13, 2014 -

The WBS Penguins took on the Hershey Bears this afternoon at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. The Penguins coming off a shootout loss against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms last night were looking to better themselves this afternoon.

The Penguins had some great chances during the first period Conor Sheary with the Pens best chance rang the puck off the post but no goal. Hershey had their share of chances as well Jeff Zatkoff doing a great job keeping the Bears out. End of one period it was all even 0-0.

The WBS Penguins gave the Hershey Bears two back to back power plays in the opening minutes of the second period, the Bears would convert on the second power play taking a one to nothing lead and putting a damper on the WBS crowd.

It would take a few power plays including a 5 x 3 that Hershey killed off before the WBS Penguins would get things together. Jean Sebastien Dea would net the Pens first of the night making it 1-1. Just 38 seconds later Dominick Uher would tally the Penguins second of the game making it 2-1 WBS.

That would be that for the second period heading off for the second intermission the WBS Penguins leading the Hershey Bears 2-1, and 20 of regulation left to play.

Third period was good end to end hockey from both teams each getting its respective chances both Zatkoff and Grubauer making some nice saves. WBS Penguins looked to have the game locked up but missed an empty net chance. Hershey came back the other way as the clock was winding down Chris Brown fired a shot from about the blue line that eluded Jeff Zatkoff who was probably already celebrating in his head making it a 2-2 game with just 2.7 second to tick off.

OT it was things started with Hershey looking to take off right out of the gate but WBS fought back with some magic of their own. Adam Payerl would be the hero sinking the winning goal just 3:10 in. Final score tonight the WBS Penguins 3 the Hershey Bears 2.
