Hurricanes' Skinner activated from injured reserve

The Carolina Hurricanes announced Friday that forward Jeff Skinner was activated from injured reserve. Skinner, who had a career-best 33 goals last season, has not played since sustaining a concussion during the preseason.

Raleigh - October 17, 2014 - The Carolina Hurricanes announced Friday that forward Jeff Skinner was activated from injured reserve.

Skinner, who had a career-best 33 goals last season, has not played since sustaining a concussion during the preseason. He traveled with the team to New York but did not play in the Hurricanes' 2-1 shootout loss to the Rangers on Thursday.

The Hurricanes next play Tuesday at the Winnipeg Jets.

Carolina also sent forwards Patrick Brown and Brody Sutter to Charlotte of the American Hockey League.
