WBS Penguins Release 2013 – 2014 Schedule
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, in conjunction with the American Hockey League have announced their 2013-14 regular season schedule. The 15th season of Penguins hockey will start on the road for the second straight year as they battle the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7:00 PM.

Wilkes-Barre Scranton - August 22, 2013 - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, in conjunction with the American Hockey League have announced their 2013-14 regular season schedule. The 15th season of Penguins hockey will start on the road for the second straight year as they battle the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7:00 PM.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will take the ice for its Home Opener on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, facing their division rival, the Hershey Bears, at 7:05 PM.

Over the course of their 76-game schedule, the Penguins will face every team in the Eastern Conference, including East Division foes 38 times (19 home/19 road). The Penguins will also skate against the Northeast Division (7/7) and the Atlantic Division (7/7) 14 times each. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will play North Division opponents 10 times (5/5), including the first-ever meetings versus the Utica Comets as they take the ice in 2013-14 for their inaugural season. The Hamilton Bulldogs also make a return to the schedule for the first time since 2008-09. The Penguins will meet 18 of 30 AHL opponents.

The schedule features two neutral site games with Penguins matching-up against the Albany Devils at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ on Saturday, Mar. 1 and Sunday, Mar. 23.

Fans will have the opportunity to celebrate New Year’s Eve with the Penguins once again when the Syracuse Crunch come into town on Tuesday, Dec. 31 for a special 5:05 PM start time.

Thirty of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s 38 home games will be played on weekend nights and afternoons. The Penguins will enjoy a season-long six-game homestand from Dec. 11-27 and also hit the road for six straight contests from Jan. 17-26.

All Penguins home games start at 7:05 PM, except on New Year’s Eve (5:05 PM) and Sundays, when the puck will drop at 4:05 PM.

The 15th season of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hockey gets underway this October.
