Wilkes-Barre Scranton - December 7, 2013 - News today of Harry Zolnierczyk getting the call up to the Burgh after the news from last night of Andrew Ebbett breaking his ankle during the game taking a puck to breakup a shot was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. From the WBS Penguins website the announcement reads.

Zolnierczyk, 26, is in his second stint of the season with the Penguins. He was scoreless in three regular-season contests earlier in the year.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Zolnierczyk has scored a team-leading nine goals in 18 games with WBS this season. He has added three helpers for a total of 12 points.

A native of Toronto, Ontario, Zolnierczyk has appeared in 47 career NHL games with Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, totaling seven points (3G-4A) and 71 penalty minutes. He has 57 points (31G-26A) in 134 career AHL games with Adirondack, Norfolk and WBS.

Zolnierczyk played four seasons of college hockey at Brown University from 2007-11, serving as team captain as a senior in ’10-11 when he scored a career-best 16 goals in 30 games.

The Penguins have placed forward Andrew Ebbett on injured reserve.
