Wilkes-Barre Scranton - April 27, 2014 - Chuck Kobasew scores just under five minutes in with two Penguins screening a nice wrist shot puts the WBS Penguins up 1-0 to start off game two against Binghamton. WBS would give the Senators first power play of game two and they take full advantage making it all even at one half way through the first period.

WBS gets back on top with an Adam Payerl keep in gets it to Mike Carman who feeds Kostopoulos for a one timer past Andrew Hammond, Penguins lead 2-1 with 8:57 left in the first. WBS would send Despres to the bin for interference giving Binghamton another chance to even it up the WBS penalty kill would hold the line keeping the one goal lead.

WBS Penguins score just 1:58 into the second as Hammond lost sight of the puck going around his goal expecting it to come out the other side it bounces right back out to Mike Carman who tucks it in the goal making it a 3-1 game.

WBS still did not get a power play yet in this game but three quarters of the way through the second period Binghamton goes on its third power play and scores making it a one goal game again Pens now leading 3-2. WBS gets it’s first power play after a little rough stuff but would get nothing out of it. By the end of the second period it was the Pens 3 the Sens 2 heading off the ice for intermission.

Twenty three seconds into the third period Binghamton evens it up at three each, beating Peter Mannino clean after a flubbed clear by the Pens. Brian Dumoulin would get an elbow from David Dziurzynski the WBS trainer came out to teat him but he gets up ok WBS gets a 2 minute power play as Dziurzynski sits in the bin.

By the end of regulation it was still even at three both sides getting chances but neither side getting the go ahead goal looking at twenty more minutes of hockey to come the only difference is that this twenty minutes is sudden death OT.

WBS getting some great chances early on but couldn’t find a way to make it happen. Binghamton would be the one Stephane Da Costa would put it over Mannino to tally the game winner beating the WBS Penguins 4-3. The series now even at one game each in the best of five.
