Calgary - August 22, 2013 - When hockey fans hear the name Selanne, one can’t help but think of the great Teemu Selanne.

The future Hall of Famer has been one of the league’s best players over the past two decades and at the tender age of forty-three, is on the verge of deciding whether or not he will return to the Anaheim Ducks for a 21st season in the NHL.

While the former tenth overall pick of the Winnipeg Jets continues to weigh the pros and cons of returning to the National Hockey League for one more season, his fifteen year old son Eetu is trying to make an impression at the Calgary Hitmen’s rookie camp.

The youngster was added to the club’s 50 player protected list in early 2013 and arrived ready to go for the first day of camp on Thursday.

According to the head scout Dan Bonar, Selanne is a “smart player with some skill” but “has still got some to go.” During this past season, Eetu posted a goal and two assists in ten games with his Santa Margarita high school side and playing alongside older brother Eemil.

Selanne added another three goals and nine points in seventeen appearances with the Anaheim Jr Ducks U16 squad and is slated to start the 2013-14 campaign as a member of the Jr. Kings AAA team. That said, he is hoping to turn some heads in Calgary over the coming weekend.
