Kamloops - September 1, 2013 - Kamloops Blazers General Manager Craig Bonner announced today that the Blazers have signed 16-year-old defenseman Travis Verveda to a standard WHL contract.

Verveda was added to the Blazers protected list this past February after suiting up for the Red Deer Northstar Chiefs of the Alberta Minor Midget League. The 6’0” 165lb defenseman put up 14 points in 32 games last season.

“Travis showed his potential with a strong training camp,” commented Director of Player Personnel, Matt Recchi. “His game has continued to improve day-by-day. We look forward to watching his progress.”

Verveda will make his debut tonight with the Blazers wearing #6 on the back-end.
