Kelowna - September 30, 2013 - After playing just one Western Hockey League game on the weekend, the Kelowna Rockets will ramp up its schedule this week, playing three games in four nights including hosting the Portland Winterhawks this weekend for a pair of games against the defending WHL champions.

The Rockets will first hit the road, traveling to Everett on Wednesday to play a Silvertips club that has won its first two games, outscoring its opponents 12-4 in the process.

Kelowna will be looking to bounce back from a 4-3 shootout loss at home to Victoria on the weekend in a game that saw the Royals score twice in the third period and then win the game in a shoot-out.

The Rockets are 2-0-0-1, having swept both ends of a home and home series with Kamloops to open the WHL season.

After the midweek road game, Kelowna comes home for what promises to be an entertaining set of home games against the high-flying Winterhawks, who have averaged six goals a game in their four games (2-1-0-1) to start the season.

The Rockets and Winterhawks have built up a great rivalry in past years, thanks to a couple of heated playoff series. Both teams play up-tempo styles and their history points to a great weekend of hockey in Kelowna.
